An Update 2

So, lets' continue!

In case you never knew, Paris Hilton is branching out into various sources in order to establish a proper source of income. These diversifications include music, perfumes and......TV Shows. Last year, Paris Hilton had a reality show to find a new best friend. It was named: "Paris Hilton: My New BFF". This year, she's up for another since her..."new BFF" left her after all. and is back with: "Paris Hilton's British Best Friend", aka. BBF.

I wonder how far she's gonna go to permutate the B's and F's in that. Oh, and how many cities she's gonna go to in order to find a true best friend. A constant question that popped up in my mind? WHY BRITAIN.....?!

I watched "Inkheart" yesterday, and it was fantastic! Haven't enjoyed such a movie in quite a while. Not to mention its marvelously handpicked actors. :D No, i'm not talking about Brendan Fraser...

So anyways, I'm looking forward to this! "The Pink Panther 2", which would be released in Singapore on 19th March. Well, i laughed my ass off for the first movie, especially during the hamburger pronunciation scene! LOL! Steve Martin is extremely hilarious! :D Have i ever mentioned the similarity of looks between Steve Martin and that of John McCain?! LOL!

Also, since we're on the topic of movies, there's gonna be a Charlie's Angels third movie installment! :D I'm really psyched about this because its probably gonna be a blast! It's in the making this year, so lets hope it comes out next year!

I haven't exactly shared music in a while. So i'm gonna share with you this song by Beyonce. Its entitled "Broken Hearted Girl", which is not her single. Her single is "Halo", which is also great, but i like Broken Hearted Girl, better. So do give it a listen! :D

I've also included a cover version of the song by Rin On The Rox. They're really good, might not shine very well for this song, but they're fantastic harmonizers! so hope you like this cover too! I personally prefer Rin's voice. :D

In addition to this, Kelly Clarkson has released her video to her song "My Life Would Suck Without You". I'm sure most of you would've found out that the song is highly addictive and grows even more on you when as you listen. :D

Hope you liked it! :D With this, i shall end off my long post here!
Lots and lots of love,
Marcus.

An Update 1

Hello my fellow readers!

i'm here to update my blog, which has been a slight standstill. well, its always been slow, so no complaints here, aite? January has been rather slow for me. I have no idea why, but its been really quite tiresome this month. I'm really looking for things to turn up in February, but i highly doubt so. There's exams next month. :( But still, keeping my hopes up because i should be all optimistic, right?

Below is one of the logos i so happened to have... "designed" for one of my projects, which involved the making up of a taxi company. My inspiration for its tag-line was due to the fact that i have an uncanny fate with taxis. NEVER ABLE TO GET ONE WHEN I WANT TO. hence, the tag-line. :D
Anyways, i wanted to do this write-up on movies! You know how some movies are always to the extremes? Like how "Transformers" was so noisy, and how you didn't know what was happening throughout the whole movie of "The Happening"? Well, here's the tribute to them. :D Posters that SHOULD carry the ACTUAL message, before we watch them in cinemas! :D

Below is one of the shoes that Kayne West designed for LV. I am pleasantly surprised by the colour. :D RED!!!! I love red things, so i was rather glad to see a red pair of shoes, FROM LV. However, i did find it a bit too overdone, especially when it was worn with jeans - which tend to be blue/blackish.

You know they say there's a price to pay, for everything. I guess since fashion is more expensive, What more, LV....

Alright. I'm gonna end this section of my long post today, here! :D Please do continue reading the other section! :D

Eew...

Hello people!
so its been a while since i updated, and since today's the eve of Chinese New Year, i'd like to wish everyone yet again, a prosperous new year! may this coming year be benevolent to you :S hahah.

so, i'm sure we all had our very scrumptious reunion dinners and all. Well, let me share a very much to be remembered episode of my Chinese New Year dinner! Oh, it gets a bit long and draggy. Please read this only if you're so so so free! Lets begin:

My reunion dinner this year was booked at a Chinese restaurant somewhere at Bukit Merah, which is also located opposite SGH (near Outram). and it was at a HDB Estate, whereby families would all meet to have their dinners. Hence, parking was a problem. This made my dad round many circles before deciding to park illegally along the road just like many Singaporeans had done.

So, we were walking toward the restaurant when my mom and i spotted a man with his wife walking toward their lorry, with key in hand. This prompted my mom to ask him politely if he was leaving, and he answered affirmatively. We then hurried my dad to start and drive the car over. Meanwhile, the man got into his lorry and started moving off.

My mom and i acted as the barrier to prevent anyone from entering the lot as my dad was just around the bend. HOWEVER, there was a van which just simply encroached my dad's path and started reversing into the lot which my mom and i were in. Startled, my mom and i stood rooted to the ground whereby he continued reversing - almost knocking into us. This caused my mom to alert him that we were right behind, by knocking on his van lightly. He stopped reversing. At the same time, my dad sounded his horn loudly for about, 15 seconds.

My dad then got out of his car and started pleading with the driver of the van, saying that we had spotted it first and we had been waiting in the area for a long time. This fell on deaf ears and in a few seconds, he resumed his reverse. My mom did the same thing again, and knocked his van to alert and warn him we were still behind. This enraged the driver and he came out of his van, with his wife. He was rather rude, but didnt exactly mouth profanities, or probably he did... but i wouldn't know, would i? After all.... I couldn't exactly understand him.

Speaking in Chinese, the man threatened to beat my mother up for knocking his van. My mom responded with a "Come, come beat me!", knowing that he wouldn't, adding "the police is right there! ". And true enough, there was a police car that pulled right behind us. An argument then followed suit, with bullish remarks being shot at my parents. This made me boil with anger as i held my mom back and shouted "Its okay, there are just so many ugly Singaporeans". The man then fired back "you think you very good?!" and i replied "BETTER THAN YOU, FOR SURE!" and he slammed his door shut and continued reversing.

My parents then went over to the policemen and told them briefly our side of the story and we went off looking for another lot. While driving off, we saw the policemen questioning the driver of the van. Well deserved for such a heartless man, who wanted to run us over and beat my mom up. Sigh, what species of humans we have bred....

It is true that our side of the story about the lot being ours, is far-fetched. But still, reversing into a parking lot with 2 people standing in it, is absurd! Clearly, if a driver knocks a person down, they are in the wrong. This case, applies. So that's why my mom and i stood rooted. Secondly, when he threatened to beat my mother up, my mother fired back "come beat me!" knowing that he wouldn't because if he did, he could get charged. So, this scenario of fighting over a parking lot, ended that way.

The aftermath of it was hilarious. My parents both debating why he would've done certain things. My dad saying that we cannot park in the same vicinity because he would puncture our tyres. LOL! Not to add that we were almost half an hour late for our dinner! Let's hope that he learns his lesson though. Singapore really does have ugly Singaporeans. :S

AHHH! so that's the end of my narration. My update ends here i guess! Hope that it wasn't that boring... This week's gonna be tough in school. with so many submissions and presentations! Blarhs! oh well, i wish everyone the best in the following days!

With love,
Marcus.

Restriant

RESTRAINT
By Marcus Khoo

Words, Actions, Thoughts, Body.
Aren't always worthy, never sturdy.
Faith in which a built of love,
A crack's, to shudder all to loss.

On cusp, on brink it may have been.
A mind, of loyalty all to thee.
Though sticks and stones won't break my bones.
No saying what flowers, yet torns may prove.

A paired, a pack, a clear mind known.
Resent, Restored, it did Resound.
Of actions that consequence a storm,
Not plummeled by a mind, fevered.
When pushed and left alone too much,
A choice, a change, a cumbersomeness.

Though ends may not be on the lines,
Those actions, words speak themselves.
Akin to magic of the truth,
You so do know its bound to youth.

So speakth thy stand to make it real,
Unless it matters not, so let it sail.
A journey not that began itself,
A need to source in "chasity".

Don't Give Up. Never Did, Never Will.

Hello my faithful readers.

[PROBABLE BORING POST AHEAD, READ WITH CAUTION AND DISCRETION]

Been a few days since i last updated. Well, here i am today to update a little bit! Firstly, school's been sucking the life out of me, thanks to the projects, deadlines, test and tonnes and tonnes of stress! so i happened to relax myself over the weekend till i had nothing productive to do, hence, started surfing the net to find out stuff. Entirely random, by the way.

So i found a few things! Below is a wide landscape shot of Mars. Er... Yes, the planet Mars? Its actually rather amazing how dull it looks? But thinking that it used to harbour life perhaps, would be almost impossible judging from the shot (above) taken 2 years ago.

Below is the planet, which you can see at the polar caps, are blue. Scientists actually speculate that its ice? But well, they would never confirm it unless they set foot on the planet. :D Methane has been spotted being released thrice last year i think, which is really interesting because methane is typically released during decomposition...

Moving on from the weird planet, we have a location back here on Earth. In the commune of the Savoie departement, in France we have this place called Tignes. Its rather beautiful and its located in the French Alps! Here's a picture of the Alps, which i almost died in amazement of its sheer serenity. :D

Tomorrow is an important day. 2 reasons. 1 life changing era. 1 new president.

1. Bush steps down from being a lousy President. Thank goodness for it.
2. Obama takes office! :D

so i was surfing the net and remembered that Tyra Banks did a photo-collection for this reason, where she played Obama's wife - Michelle Obama. Its really good, but i don't think they look very alike. so whatever. Below are 2 shots of her!

OH WELL! Its about time that this came! Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year is here! And this year, its the year of the OX! :D i don't get it though, the Chinese character below is also known as "Cow". But cow is the female species of the Bull. then whats an ox? :S okay, pardon my ignorance!!!! heh.

And perhaps its a little too early, but... here's wishing everyone who celebrates this event, a wonderful and prosperous New Year! May blessings flow into your life continuously, and your fulfillment be overflowing for the rest of your life! :D

Adorable aint it, that Ox. I know, its so cute. :D alrights. i guess i shalt end my post right here before i be more of a nag. heh.

With Love,
Marcus.

My Life Would Suck Without You.

AMERICAN IDOL premieres tonight! i really cant wait to see this whole season of AI! After all, there is someone whom i'm really looking forward to see. The new judge, Kara DioGuardi. She's a very talented singer/songwriter. And i've done some research on the lady. She composed songs for Hilary Duff, Katharine McPhee, Kelly Clarkson, The Pussycat Dolls, Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Celine Dion, and many more.

but singers alone does not do her justice. Apologize and Stop And Stare was co-written by her. Nick Lachey's What's Left Of Me, David Archuleta's Crush, Kelly Clarkson's Walk Away are just some of the songs written by her. No doubt, she might not be as talented as The Clutch; but give her credit for being so talented as a solo writer!

So, i never really did see how she looked like, until yesterday when i watched an interview online. and i thought, wow. she does look very familiar. Doesn't she look like Katharine McPhee? So here's the comparison. Above is the picture of Kara and below is the one of Katharine. Hmmm. must be the hair, eyes, and bone structure. LOL!

Oh yes, she's quite gorgeous for her age. she's 38, and she can sing! so i decided to find something to hear her voice. so here's it.

AHHH! I'm also looking very forward to watching Red Cliff 2! yes, the second "episode" as they put it. but i dont know china movies that are called "episodes". anyways, the first one was good, and i've heard the second was a smash. :D so... YEAH!

For music, Kelly Clarkson has had her single "My Life Would Suck Without You", leaked! :D finally..... the song isn't the best of her singles to date, but its catchy and very like-able. it grows on you, like many other songs. its fantastic now that i've had it on repeat for so long. :D here's the song in a youtube video! hope you like it!:

The week has been rather rough. Started out with a horrendous Statistics test, which i'd probably funk. uhh, and yeah. got a presentation this Friday. and i'm just dying to keep up because next Tuesday is my macroeconomics test. :D lovely right, poly?

right.. talking about this, the o level results came out this week! Congrats to all the O Level results receivers! and those who didnt do as well, keep working hard! its not the end yeah? :D

alright. that's all for today. catch you guys soon! :D
xoxo,
Marcus.

All I Ever Wanted

And so it was a few days back that i blogged about Kelly Clarkson and her new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You", that would be released on the 19th of this month! Well, i'm glad to say that the song officially sounds FANTASTIC! :D

how and why? well, basically, Amazon has released a 30second clip. so DO CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW AND GIVE IT A LISTEN!!

I do have to warn those fans who loved her album "My December". This is mainly due to the fact that some of you guys might not like her old sound. (you know that she was trying to find her own style...) but this is just way back to the pop/rock genre. i still prefer it tough!!

and in addition to that, her new album art has also been released! Her studio album - All I Ever Wanted; is set to be released on the 17th of March 2009, so i'm really looking forward to it just like how those Kelly Clarkson fans out there are! :D I am still really disappointed over BOTH of these pictures tough! whats with them?! lol.

LISTEN HERE!

with that, i conclude this post. on a note that Open House has been fulfilling. lots of talking and interaction. i'm glad that tomorrow is the last day of Open House because its really strenuous! but otherwise, its been wonderful! :D

With Lots Of Love,
Marcus.

as for you, please. i dont know what to do, and what is going on. tell me.

When you're at the end of the road, sometimes you tell yourself that you gotta be strong because it wasnt a war you waged, but a lesson of a lifetime.

So, lets be believers today. suprise me.

Welcome 2009!

In a swift, 2008 has gone by and bid its last farewell. Albeit late, i wish you a Happy New Year and welcome you to the year of 2009! I initially did want to do my new year resolutions and all. But due to my procrastination, i dont think i would do so. it seems rather inappropriate now that 7 days have already passed. :S

So, moving on. The month of January has much to look forward to. One of these would be the results of my common test. Well, i've already got one paper, which is really not very flattering........ so yeah. However, January would, itself holds great moments. So, MARK THEM DOWN! Yes, Gossip Girl is coming back! OR RATHER, has come back, just yesterday it made its 14th run of Season 2. No that i've watched it at present, but i hear there's much to expect from this season. We all like how juicy shows can get. Well, for this season, its gonna get juicer. :D Running for 25 episodes, we're only slightly more than halfway done!

Remember Georgina Sparks? yes, the character played by the very talented and bitchy-charactered Michelle Trachtenberg is gonna come back, says the producers of Gossip Girl. You know we love how dark and mysterious this girl is, and how we hate her evil ways. Well, its a love/hate relationship after all...

Oh, and dont forget to mark the 14th of January down! This is when American Idol returns, with its 8th run! They're dishing out seasons like it doesnt cost a cent huh! I'm oddly looking forward to this season. Just that gut that there are gonna be much competition amongst the singers cuz they'll be so so SO good.... Oh well, we do need our seasonal dose of laughter from the auditions, right? :D

Maybe they're running them back to back so quickly because of the popularity of this series. Look at Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson. All making it quite big in the music scene. :D Anyways! i'm looking forward to Kara DioGuardi!

You better be ready and you better love her, because Kelly Clarkson is releasing her new single entitled "My Life Would Suck Without You" on the 19th of January! Although not that highly anticipated, i hope she jumps straight back into contemporary music like the ones she used to do and STOP EXPERIMENTING! :D

AND! Not forgetting NGEE ANN POLY'S OPEN HOUSE 2009!
i cant wait for this event. There's been tonnes and tonnes of preparation that we have done for this open house, and i really wana do my best! So, please do come visit our Open House, even if you're already in the school! :D From the 8th-10th of January 2009 from 11am-6pm!

Ahhh. So this is where i end my long, draggy post. Hope you've had a wonderful start to your new year, and i'll keep this updated soon! :D

With Love,
Marcus.
