If We Had One More Chance...

hello darlings
if you havent already heard, Marcus is back from Melbourne, with no more pictures worth posting because....they're just mediocre. heh.

anyways, whilst i was away i have been doing some thinking about issues so ever prevalent in the area of extinction of our world. if you happen to be watching current affairs in this half-sick world, you'd realise that the US Presidential Debates are occurring. That Barack Obama is leading in the debate. You would also know that the Australian dollar has dropped to 1.047 in comparison to 1 Singapore dollar. you would also know that the US has headed for a Global Recession and they even call it the modern day Depression. Um, a global recession isnt as painless as it sounds, by the way.

But i was thinking, something that we have heard more than enough. Global Wamring. What does any of that have to do with combating global warming? or is it even combat-able, in the first place, at this stage? i, for one would not like to live in a world headed nose-first, straight for permanent extinction. but it seems that thats the direction we're headed, don't you think so? with that said, you'd probably realise the efforts that we're putting into conserving the environment.

I dont know if anyone has actually watched Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" but to be very honest, it was really WOWing because of how he delivered the facts. We're in a situation thats almost too late to salvage. Yet, with these issues impending and of so much more importance, we still have Barack fighting with John over who to be president. We have Ben Bernanke cutting interest rates, pumping 700 Billion dollars into the financial market. but seriously. which is more crucial. the market's survival or our existence?

i'm not saying that we're not doing anything. i'm simply saying that time isnt on our side, and its just really frightening to realise that we're digging our own comfortable graves because when the pieces are down, we're gonna start complaining again. we're gonna realise that we've made such an err. but when that time comes, nothing we do would save us from our well-deserved consequences. what can we do? nothing i guess, but just wait for judgement. idk why this sounds so...mythical scary, but really...its the only thing to do. right?

Next issue...

anyway, before it gets even more boring. lol. i was watching "The Break Up" again on the plane. and i realised how predictable their fights were! haha. and i just told myself i needed to say this. You know how sometimes you have fights with your loved ones? really, thats just a form of communicating. and when you leave him/her and choose to be egoistic and not try to mend a relationship, it makes no difference than you being stupid. right, that didnt make much sense, but when you put efforts, you'd realise that the person is really your partner. because even though you fight and quarrel over the stupidest things, you still love him/her, you still miss the quarrelling when you've walked away from the table

and like it was said in the movie, its the willingness to act upon it, not the things that are done on its physical outcome solely. it touches a person when you do something with initiative thats sweet. just like doing something with your loved one, even if it were just clearing the trash. its simply blissful because its with the person, not the act alone. it just melts the heart, even if it were a guy's. we're all humans after all. all homo sapiens have feelings, emotions. lying about controlling them is just hypocritical and unjust toward you, showing your shame of owing up.

personally, i feel that as time goes by, people tend to understand and compromise, making a relationship last. flaws that were ever so dull and painful would become gems that shine and stand out, making the person so special, so unique, so lovable. and its these characteristics that make you truly fall head over heels, in love. If love, to you is to search for the right person, and giving up when it doesnt work out the first time, taking chances as you get by and by without committing; then you might as well call stealing and robbing from banks, borrowing temporarily. And when you try to reduce the severity of the extent your actions demean you, you're only making yourself less worthy of respect, which....speaks really badly about yourself.

so above is a song by Beyonce, entitled "If I Were A Boy". Its just released, well, not released yet, but its really good. Originally writeen by JC Bean. However, i like both versions. so i decided to leave you with Beyonce's video. The song's message is actually really powerful. lyrically very subtle in words, the song outlines the discrimination of women in comparison to men. heart-wrenching, really.

well, thats all for today. i hope you get my flow. such a mystery,an unnerving enigma.
xoxo,
Marcus.
